It fills us with joy that the superyacht industry has grown a heart in recent years and we are proud to be part of a community that supports each other, actively helps to reduce waste and help the environment, and raises significant amounts of cash for numerous important charities around the world. GO US!
One such heart-warming story is that of the amazing crew of MY New Hampshire who have decided to raise as much awareness and cash as they can for men’s health and are hosting the ultimate MOVEMBER party at the Blue Lady in Antibes on November 29th. And we are all invited!
Kelly Harrison, Chief Stewardess spoke to YACHTNEEDS to tell us more about how we can all get in involved.
We hear you are planning a legendary end of Movember party at the Blue Lady in Antibes. Tell us more.
As everyone knows Movember is a month for all men to grow funny moustaches thick or thin, for a great cause. It’s a month to celebrate and support all the dads, brothers, sons and mates in our lives!
This year is hits close to home as one of our crew members was sadly diagnosed recently with cancer. He is a friend and a colleague and to show our support we have decided to put together an evening of fun but most importantly to raise funds and awareness for Men’s health issues. In honour of him we are hosting a fundraiser Stand Together for Movember and we invite everyone near and far to come join us at The Blue Lady to help the NH crew give back!
What can we expect at the party?
It’s going to be a fun filled evening as the amazing Blue Lady family are putting on Beer Pong for us, where teams of 5 will be going up against each other in the ultimate battle of skill and co-ordination for the title of Mo-Beer-Pong-Champions. It’s €10 per person or €50 per team if you wish to have the maximum number of 5 players. Prizes will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd team winners. (Cash only please).
At the same time the NH crew will going around selling raffle tickets at €2.50 a pop, with incredible prizes up for grabs!
Nominations for best Mo-On-Show will be received on the night and the winner will be announced after the raffle.

Who is invited?
Everyone and anyone! The more the merrier 🙂

How can crew who can’t make it to Antibes also support you?
We would really appreciate it if people, who would like to partake in the movement and show their support, could donate to our Mo Team on the uk.movember.com site. Link below.
Is it something you see yourself and your crew setting up yearly?
Hopefully yes! It’s our first year hosting this fundraiser and the response from everyone and the donations so far have been amazing and humbling. It means so much to us and our friend that so many people are so eager to get involved. The support you get from the most unlikely places is incredible in this great industry!
What do you plan to do with the donations?
All donations and funds raised will be donated to the movember.com movement where their aim is to tackle men’s health issues, both physical and mental. Our men are dying too young, some through cancer, others through suicide and unfortunately there isn’t a lot of advertised support for them to connect with each other. Movember.com all over the world brings that recognition and support.
It means so much to us to bring awareness to this issue as our industry has been affected with male suicides too often. A dear friend of ours took his own life last year which shocked everyone and we always wished there was something we could have done to prevent it. Movember can help our future yachties, hopefully to see there is another way.
How much cash would you like to raise?
We hope to raise at least €2000 on the night. As it stands at the moment, we have already raised over £1000 on our Mo-Team page so far 🙂 YAY! so we really hope to reach that goal!
Thanks Kelly and all the crew of MY New Hampshire, we think you are all superstars and cant wait to see you all on the 29th at the Blue Lady in Antibes!
